Huge Mirror Provides PB for Chris - 10/03/2010

TC contributor and Chub Academy member Chris Lowe has banked a new PB in the form of this 47lb 3oz mirror.

The West Bromwich-based rod banked the colossal mirror from his Shropshire syndicate water, Acton Burnell’s Top Lake, which beat his previous PB by just under 1lb.

The capture came shortly after 9am on February 26th. Not only was this one of the first fish from the venue since October, but it kick-started Chris’ season in fine fashion after such a harsh winter. This is Chris’ fourth season on the complex, but only his second season on this particular water. The SBS-backed angler told TC: “I’m over the moon. Not only did I beat my PB, but this was my target fish from the Top Lake. It’s not the venue’s biggest resident and it’s not a named specimen, but ever since seeing a picture of this mirror I’ve wanted to catch it. In that respect it’s mission accomplished, but I do plan on spending one final season at Acton with my sights firmly set on the water’s 48lb-plus common.”

All at TC would like to congratulate Chris on his stunning capture.
