Here’s your chance to win a selection of Ultima’s latest Power products – all of which have been developed specifically for carp anglers.

We have a selection of Ultima’s latest carp-specific products up for grabs. First on the list is Power Carp, which is a fluorocarbon-coated, copolymer main line. Ultima’s prowess in producing lines has enabled it to manufacture Power Carp with a host of properties developed to aid the line’s performance. For example, Power Carp is subjected to a unique, two-stage softening process. The end result is that, despite the fluorocarbon coating, Power Carp is surprisingly supple. Alongside this is great abrasion resistance, which Ultima claims is 600 per cent greater than a normal monofilament line. Crazy as it sounds, line isn’t waterproof. Over time your main line will absorb water, weakening it. Power Carp is water resistant to combat this, prolonging both its life and performance.

Along with the main line, each prize contains two hook-link materials. The first is Power Link, a pure fluorocarbon line developed to be super-soft and fast sinking. The 25m spool that it’s supplied on fits neatly into a tackle box and it’s available in 12lb, 15lb and 18lb breaking strains, so covers the vast majority of situations. The second is the only purpose-made zig and floater hooklength ever produced in the form of Power Zig. This is a hollow line, making it super-buoyant and therefore perfectly suited to its purpose. It’s been designed to be anti-twist because twisted hooklengths can be a problem when reeling in zig rigs, and boasts good knot strength too.

The fourth and final product that each winner will receive is Ultima’s new leadcore, known as Power Core. It’s a relatively low-diameter leadcore, further helped by the fact that it’s available in 25lb and 35lb breaking strains, instead of the more common 45lb. Even so, it’s plenty heavy enough and sinks like a brick. Power Core boasts a camouflaged finished thanks to a mottled weave and is easy to splice too, which is a huge bonus.
